Using SceneSync

What’s the difference between Scene Plans and Reflections?

Scene Plans are for before a scene:
– Plan activities, boundaries, and safety measures
– Define consent style and negotiation points
– Specify safewords and check-in preferences
– Organize aftercare plans
– Request guidance on your planning from Feedback Assistant (paid feature)

Reflections are for after a scene:
– Document what happened
– Record what worked well
– Note challenges or triggers
– Identify learnings for next time
– Request guidance on your reflection from Feedback Assistant (paid feature)

Both are private and encrypted. Only you can see your content.

How does the token system work?

Tokens gate access to personalized feedback. Each feedback request consumes one token.

Token types:
1. Signup tokens (6): Given free when you create an account, never expire, not refillable
2. Subscription tokens: Monthly allocation based on your subscription tier (after beta)
3. Rollover tokens: Unused subscription tokens (expire 7 days after canceling subscription)
4. Pay-as-you-go tokens: Purchased token packs, never expire

Usage priority:

Subscription → Rollover → Pay-as-you-go → Signup

During beta:
– You start with 30 tokens (6 signup + 24 beta grant)
– Beta grant tokens expire when your beta period ends
– You’ll have 6 signup tokens remaining after beta

How do I get more tokens?

During beta:
– You start with 30 tokens (enough to fully test the app)
– Earn tier rewards (50-100 tokens) based on engagement

After beta:
– Subscribe: Monthly/annual subscriptions include token allocations
– Purchase token packs: One-time purchases (small, medium, large packs)
– Tier rewards: If beta testers earned rewards, these never expire

Can I get a refund on tokens?

Refund policy:
– Token packs: No refunds after purchase (tokens never expire)
– Subscriptions: Cancellable anytime, no pro-rated refunds
– Billing disputes: Contact support@scenesync.app within 30 days

How does feedback generation work?

When you request feedback:
1. Your scene plan or reflection is analyzed
2. Personalized guidance is generated based on your content
3. Feedback appears in the app (usually within 10-30 seconds)
4. One token is consumed (only if feedback is successfully generated)

Feedback includes:
– Safety considerations you may have missed
– Consent and boundary refinements
– Communication suggestions
– Aftercare recommendations
– Learning opportunities

If feedback generation fails (network issues, etc.), your token is NOT consumed.

Is my data private and secure?

Yes. SceneSync uses Google Firebase (part of Google Cloud Platform) for authentication, storage, and database operations.

– Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest by default in Google Cloud; Firestore encrypts all data before it is written to disk.
– Firebase Security Rules and App Check restrict unauthorized or unauthenticated access to Firestore/Storage and help ensure calls come from your app.
– SceneSync does not share or sell your data.
– Google Cloud states it does not sell customer Service Data.
– Some Firebase services (for example, Analytics) may use aggregated, anonymized metrics to improve service reliability.

What’s private:
– All scene plans and reflections are visible only to you.
– No advertising or tracking SDKs are included.

What we can see:
– Anonymous usage analytics
– Crash reports
– Support emails you send

What we’ll never do:
– Sell data to third parties
– Use your content for advertising
– Share scene content without permission

Read our full Privacy Policy at /privacy

Can I share my scene plans with partners?

Not yet, but it’s coming!

Currently, scene plans are private to your account only. We’re building a secure sharing feature that will let you:
– Share specific scene plans with partners
– Control what they can see and edit
– Revoke access at any time

In the meantime, we’ve built in an easy copy-all function that you can use to easily share any part you choose.

Can I export my data?

To export:
1. Open SceneSync
2. Go to Main Menu → User Profile → Privacy Settings
3. Tap “Export My Data”
4. Choose format (JSON or CSV)

What happens:

This cannot be undone. Export your data first if you want to keep it!

Can I use SceneSync anonymously?

What’s required:
– Email address (for account authentication and password recovery)

What’s optional:

Technical Support

The app crashed. What should I do?

Immediate steps:
1. Force close SceneSync
2. Restart your device
3. Open SceneSync again

If crashes continue:

1. Check for app updates (we may have fixed the issue)
2. Clear app cache (Settings → Apps → SceneSync → Clear Cache)
3. Reinstall the app (your data is saved in the cloud)

Still crashing? Email support@scenesync.app with:
– What you were doing when it crashed
– Your device model and Android version
– Screenshot of any error messages

Feedback generation failed. Why?

Common causes:

“No tokens available”
– Solution: Check your token balance (Settings → Tokens). Purchase tokens or wait for monthly allocation.

“Network error”
– Solution: Check your internet connection. Try again when you have stable Wi-Fi or cellular data.

“Content too long”
– Solution: Scene plans have a 15,000 character limit, reflections have 30,000. Shorten your content.

“Generation failed”
– Solution: Temporary server issue. Wait 5 minutes and try again. Your token was NOT consumed.

Persistent issues? Email support@scenesync.app with:
– Which document (scene plan or reflection)
– Error message received
– Your account email

My draft disappeared. Where did it go?

Drafts are saved locally on your device. If your draft disappeared:

Check these:
1. Make sure you didn’t accidentally publish the draft
2. Look in your scene plans or reflections (it may have auto-saved)
3. Check if you switched devices (drafts don’t sync across devices)

If draft is truly lost:
– Reinstalling the app clears local drafts
– Clearing app data clears local drafts
– Switching devices doesn’t transfer drafts

Best practice:
– Save your work frequently while editing
– Don’t rely solely on drafts for long-term storage

How do I report a bug?

We appreciate bug reports! To report:

Email: support@scenesync.app
Subject: Bug Report – [Brief Description]

Include:
– What happened: Detailed description of the bug
– Expected behavior: What should have happened
– Steps to reproduce: How to trigger the bug again
– Device info: Model and Android version
– Screenshots: If applicable

We aim to respond within 24 hours during beta testing.

Safety & Consent

– Reminders about consent and boundary setting
– Ideas for improving your planning

Immediate danger:
– Call emergency services (911 in US)
